Cake stall puts church out on the street

Sarnesfield Church Ladies and friends showed a mission spirit by putting a cake stall on Broad Street, Weobley, on Saturday morning, September 15.

Hilary Havard and Viv Leech served what seemed like a constant a queue of customers attired in their green aprons embroidered "Sarnesfield Church Ladies". Sarnesfield's Roger Marshall was there too, steadying the matching green gazebo against the breeze and wearing his corporate colours with the lettering "Sarnesfield Church Ladies and Roger".

Sarnesfield is one of the smaller congregations in the Weobley & Staunton benefice but the church is welcoming and well supported by its members – who are good at coming up with imaginative ideas to make connections. And their cake is excellent...
